choose your focus

Today I want to remind you (and myself) that focus is one of our most powerful tools we have available to us, and we should do as much as we can to improve it whenever possible.   

My body HURTS today. It's been a rough week or two in our household and my hips and back are feeling so sore and uncomfortable. It was the first thing I felt when I woke up this morning, and the last thing I felt when I went to sleep. Just this deep, intense ache.   

However, I know that with the skill of focus, I can help reduce the amount of attention I allow my brain to put on the pain in my body, and instead choose to tune into other areas of my body or life to help provide some relief. (Obviously I'm going to stretch as well)

If you haven't created a meditation practice for yourself yet, I highly recommend it. Meditation has been shown to help improve focus AND it can also help reduce inflammation and soooo many other things.   

Let me know if you need any guidance on how to get started, but today's reminder is above all else - choose where your focus goes.   

Don't let life and autopilot lead you around by your impulses and programming, choose.
